When I arrived at Clara Maase this morning, there were people celebrating health care workers.
They gave each arriving worker, a swag bag containing toothpaste, toothbrush, Dr.Scholl's in-soles, a chocolate bars, etc.
It was a nice way to start work. All of my patients were stable today. Really didn't make much progress, but also didn't lose any ground. Never the less, today was a busy day. The ICU I'm in is a makeshift ICU. It had previously been used as recovery room, but since elective surgeries had been put on hold and the existing ICU's were overflowing with patients, this space was turned into an ICU. Now with the flattening of new COVID cases and preparation to open back up elective surgeries, the decision was made to move all our patients to a new location. I had gotten used to our makeshift ICU and took some picture to memorialize the space. In this place I have seen patients die, patients recover, FaceTime'd with families, our team laugh, our team cry, our team celebrate, our team mourn.
Here is our last patient leaving our ICU, tomorrow I'll take some picture of our new space.
Oh and my COVID test came back negative, thank god. That's all for now.
